Edgar Wallace was a very popular mystery and thriller writer of the 20s and 30s, He also was one of the creators of King Kong. 

More than 160 films have been based on his work. His works were also brought to the public by tv series like the just mentioned “Four Just Men”, “the Edgar Wallace Mysteries” “the Green Archer” and “The Mind of Mr. J.G. Reeder”’ which is set in the 1920s, performed by the British tv actor Hugh Burden 1913.(born April 3rd

Wallace died in 1932 (diabetes) while working at th King Kong movie, which was published posthumously.
