Yesterday’s birthday March 20th 1828 : the Norwegian playwright, theatre director and poet Hendrik Ibsen.

He is often referred to as “the father of realism” and is one of the founders of Modernism in theatre. Well known for his “Peer Gynt” for which Edvard Grieg composed the music, Hedda Gabler and a Doll’s House.
